What could taste better on your pancakes than maple syrup you and your family produced from your own property? Now you can make wood-fired maple syrup from the comfort of your own backyard! Its a rewarding hobby that the whole family will enjoy.
Stop making maple syrup on your turkey fryer, where it is costs you $60-$80 in propane to make one gallon of finished syrup. Wood fired evaporators is a low cost natural alternative to burning propane or using electricity to boil sap. Our wood fired evaporator will last for many years and reliably produce maple syrup at a very efficient rate due to the amount of surface area contact on pans. Depending on condition and style of use, the evaporator can evaporate anywhere from 4 to 6 gallons of sap per hour. The evaporator is designed for the backyard sugaring enthusiast and homesteaders with 5 to 50+ taps.
My younger brother and I produce these evaporators with a high attention to detail, ensuring they are perfectly square and level. We are careful and meticulous throughout the entire build process so we are assured that you will be satisfied with your investment. We only make/sell products that we would be happy to buy ourselves. We have refined our evaporator design over three maple seasons. We spent months designing the most efficient evaporator with the fastest boil rates possible and have landed on this finalized design.
Our evaporators include everything you need to make maple syrup from the sap you collect from your own trees. Including two stainless steel food grade trays, a five foot chimney stack with damper, and cast iron door and legs. Our evaporators are made out of recycled 55 gallon barrels. The barrel may have some small scratches or dings on it but that does not affect its performance. After your first season of use, we recommend painting the barrel with high temp paint.

Maple Syrup Evaporator
Dimension: 36"x 28"x 23"
Weight: 70 lbs
I'm fairly new at this, but after a couple years stooping over my backyard fire pit to boil sap, I decided this season to upgrade to this unit, and am very glad I did. The pans fit snugly (but not too tight), the 5' stack draws well - overall, a very well-constructed, efficient and economical unit. As the description says, it will need a coat of paint before next year. And I'd also recommend including the fire brick set.
Great product, communication and customer service. I highly recommend.
Great customer service. We bought our evaporator last year with the banquet pans and it worked well. This year we decided to upgrade to a large pan with the addition of a warming pan. Charlie delivered the pan and even brought his tools to retrofit our barrel. I highly recommend Bassett Maple Co for all your syrup making supplies
This is the best evaporator I've ever used. We got it late Friday afternoon and were able to boil over 70 gallons Saturday & Sunday and it made our lives incredibly easy. Very well made product, easy to assemble/unassemble, and light enough for one person to move. This works really well for the backyard maple syrup enthusiast and is incredibly affordable for how solid it is.
